This past Spring, I was fortunate enough to get the chance to explore the rugged, rocky and fenceless state of Alaska. It was the furthest North I had ever traveled and I was overtaken with awe at each bend in the road. The Spring in the north country lends itself to a wild energy as the land wakes from its frozen winter slumber. Everything about Alaska felt so alive and so wild which made me feel so alive and so wild, but I also knew I was at its mercy. I knew that there was nothing safe or tame about this land and, to me and my comfortable, controllable, routine city life, this was incredibly refreshing!
These are some of my favorite images from my trip! I can’t wait to head back someday! Thanks to Richard Photo Lab for the beautiful film scans.
